Areal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 8:57 PM EDT on July 23, 2016

The National Weather Service in Miami has issued a

* Flood Advisory for minor flooding in poor drainage areas for...
east central Miami-Dade County in southeastern Florida...

* until 1100 PM EDT

* at 854 PM EDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain amounts up to 2
inches have occurred during the last hour from thunderstorms. This
will cause minor flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas will
result in minor flooding in the advisory area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Coral Gables... South Miami... Kendall... the Redland and Pinecrest.

Additional rainfall of 1 to 3 inches are expected over the area with
the nearly stationary thunderstorms during the next couple of hours.
This additional rain will continue the minor flooding. If the
rainfall rates increased from than forecast, then a Flash Flood
Warning may be needed for this area.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around... don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.

A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated... or
ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
