Areal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 4:28 PM EDT on May 4, 2016

... The Flood Advisory remains in effect until 600 PM EDT for eastern
Broward and northeastern Miami-Dade counties...

At 425 PM EDT... Doppler radar indicated that the heavy rains that
been occurring with the training thunderstorms over the Metro areas
of Broward County this afternoon has dissipated late this
afternoon.However... rainfall amounts up to two inches have fallen
over the Metro areas of Broward County this afternoon with even some
3 inch rainfall over the sawgrass area. These amounts of rainfall
will take some time to dissipate from the roadways. Therefore... the
Flood Advisory will remain in effect until 6 PM EDT for eastern
Broward and northeast Miami-Dade counties.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around... don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams... country roads... farmland... and other low lying
spots.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.

A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated... or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
