Winter Weather Advisory
Statement as of 6:38 am PST on November 22, 2009

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 4 PM PST this
afternoon...

A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 4 PM PST this
afternoon.

Total snow fall over the central Washington Cascade east slopes
is expected to reach 5 to 10 inches with heaviest accumulations
expected from Cle Elum westward along Interstate 90 and from
Rimrock Lake westward along Highway 12.

Accumulations of 5 to 7 inches are expected along the southern
Washington Cascade east slopes mainly above 2000 feet and west of
the Klickitat river.

Most of this snow will accumulate this morning through early this
afternoon. Additionally... sustained winds of 20 to 30 mph with
gusts up to 40 mph at pass levels will result in areas of blowing
snow with local visibility reductions down to one-quarter mile of
less at times.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow is issued
when sustained winds or frequent gusts to 35 mph are expected
with falling and or blowing and drifting snow. Visibilities may
become poor at times. Those venturing outdoors should exercise
extreme caution. For additional weather information... check our
web site at www.Weather.Gov/Pendleton.
