Strong west winds along the coast this morning will slowly diminish. West winds...gusting as high as 50 to 55 mph are still possible through 8 am. High winds along the coast are typically blow from the south. However...this storm is producing west winds...and as a result are affecting areas not normally exposed to strong winds.

Showers in the morning...then showers likely in the afternoon. Windy. Highs around 50. West wind 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 50 mph early...decreasing to 15 to 25 mph in the afternoon.
Tonight
Mostly cloudy. A chance of showers in the evening...then a slight chance of showers after midnight. Lows 40 to 45. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph shifting to the south 10 to 15 mph after midnight.
Monday
Cloudy. A slight chance of rain in the morning...then a chance of rain in the afternoon. Breezy. Highs near 55. South wind 15 to 25 mph.
In The Main Channel Combined seas near 13 to 15 ft today...gradually subsiding to 11 ft tonight. However...seas temporarily near to 17 ft during the Ebb around 815 am this morning...and near 15 ft during the Ebb around 8 PM tonight. Breakers are likely during the ebbs.
... High surf advisory in effect until 2 PM PST this afternoon for the South Washington... north and central Oregon coast...
The National Weather Service in Portland has issued a high surf advisory... which is in effect until 2 PM PST this afternoon.
Strong winds overnight have generated a large area of locally generated swell offshore. Expect west swells of 22 to 25 ft to move through the coastal surf zone this morning. Large swells will be along the north Oregon coast.
Seas will slowly subside late this morning and this afternoon.

A high surf advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in the advisory area... producing rip currents and localized beach erosion.
