Winter Weather Advisory
Statement as of 6:28 PM MDT on March 14, 2010

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from midnight
tonight to 6 PM MDT Monday...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow remains in effect from
midnight tonight to 6 PM MDT Monday.

* Snow accumulations... expect 1 to 3 inches... with the higher
amounts along the foothills and lower amounts in the valley.

* Timing... snowfall will increase tonight... especially late
evening into Monday morning. Snowfall will decrease in
intensity Monday afternoon.

* Winds... strong East Canyon winds of 15 to 25 mph will be found
along the Central Mountain gaps leading into the Rio Grande
Valley... otherwise widespread significant winds are not
expected at this time. Strongest winds will be Monday morning.

* Snow levels... a mixture of rain and snow will be found early
this evening but all snow by late evening as temperatures
drop.

* Local impacts... snow is expected to impact travel due to snow
packed roadways and reduced visibilities.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will primarily cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow
covered roads and limited visibilities.

Monitor NOAA Weather Radio... weather.Gov/abq or your local media
for the latest updates on this situation.
