Current forecast
Issued by the National Weather Service at 7:17 PM CST on November 21, 2009
Mainly clear skies over eastern Wisconsin will allow for the formation of fog again tonight. The fog will gradually thicken during the evening. Although the visibility at most locations is expected to edge downward to between 1 and 2 miles by 1100 PM...the fog will become much more dense in some areas. Visibilities as low as 1/4 mile could develop in low-lying areas and river valleys. Anyone traveling this evening should be prepared for the possibility of encountering sudden changes in visibility. If you encounter a fog bank while driving on the Highway...always use your low-beam headlights and slow down to a speed at which you can safely stop if you encounter an animal or object in the roadway.

Special Weather Statement
Statement as of 8:57 PM CST on November 21, 2009

... Fog expected to become dense in low-lying areas in eastern
Wisconsin tonight...

Fog is expected tonight in eastern Wisconsin. Most of the area
will have visibilities drop to 1 to 2 miles by midnight. But the
fog will become much more dense in low-lying areas and along river
valleys. The visibility in such locations will fall below 1/4
mile... and could drop below a hundred feet at times. This will
create hazardous travel conditions.

Anyone traveling tonight should be prepared to encounter
fog... and plan accordingly. If you encounter a fog bank while
driving on the Highway... always use your low-beam headlights and
slow down to a speed at which you can safely stop if you encounter
an animal or object in the roadway.

Clouds and a little more winds will greatly limit the amount of
fog that develops in central and north-central Wisconsin.
