Statement as of 7:45 PM PST on November 21, 2009

... Wind Advisory remains in effect until 7 am PST Sunday for the
Willamette Valley including the greater Portland and Vancouver
areas... the lower Columbia and the I-5 corridor in Cowlitz
County...

A Wind Advisory remains in effect until 7 am PST Sunday.

Strong southerly winds are expected this evening ahead of a
strong Pacific cold front... followed by strong southwest to west
winds later tonight after the front passes through the area.
Sustained speeds of 25 to 35 mph are expected with gusts 45 to 50
mph. A few gusts to 55 mph are possible late tonight especially
along the I-5 corridor in Cowlitz County. Winds will ease Sunday
morning.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory is issued when sustained winds are forecast to be
31 to 39 mph or gusts will range between 45 and 57 mph. Winds of
these magnitudes may cause minor property damage without extra
precautions. Motorists in high profile vehicles should use
caution until the winds subside.
