Winter Weather Advisory
Statement as of 3:29 PM PST on November 21, 2009

... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 7 PM this evening to
4 PM PST Sunday...

The National Weather Service in Pendleton has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow... which is in effect from
7 PM this evening to 4 PM PST Sunday.

Total snow fall over the central Washington Cascade east slopes is
expected to reach 5 to 10 inches with heaviest accumulations
expected from Cle Elum westward along Interstate 90 and from
Rimrock Lake westward along Highway 12.

Accumulations of 5 to 7 inches is expected along the southern
Washington Cascade east slopes mainly above 2000 feet and west of
the Klickitat river.

Most of this snow will accumulate beginning this evening and continue
through Sunday afternoon. Additionally... sustained winds of 15 to
25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph at pass levels will result in
areas of blowing snow with local visibility reductions down to
one-quarter mile of less at times.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow is issued when
sustained winds or frequent gusts to 35 mph are expected with
falling and or blowing and drifting snow. Visibilities may become
poor at times. Those venturing outdoors should exercise extreme
